The new trend in New York City? Cats as shop-greeters. An article published in The New York Post highlights the popularity of “shop cats,” who greet customers when they walk in. For example, Lionel, a giant orange tabby, hangs out in Midtown’s Red Caboose shop (the owner of the store told the Post he adopted Lionel a decade ago). Lionel was photographed for a new book called Shop Cats of New York, which is available now. We have to say, we really like this trend!
